After being told that his homemade chili could be put on anything! Kevin McLean got the idea of one day starting his own business. After trying different recipes and using fresh ingredients, his most staunch food critic Jerry (his father) boasted that he could eat his hot dogs every day. Kevin to that compliment along with his recipes and set out on a mission. That mission is to share his recipes with all the triad while making people smile, being a servant leader in his community and connecting other small businesses.
Hot Dog Central was born! With a focus on people, the company is quickly building a reputation of great food and service with a smile as the owner Kevin likes to get to know his customers. Even taking the time for a quick photo when time allows. With their unique way of cooking all beef hot dogs, all beef sausage dogs, veggie dogs and burgers, Hot Dog Central is becoming a favorite in the city. They can be seen at all kinds of events as well on their lot on the corner of South Elm and Bragg Street in Greensboro (see the map below) Tell us about your Hot Dog Central experience here.
Born and raised in Greensboro, NC, Kevin McLean has been around great Southern food all his life. His passion for great food started with his mother, Delores, and eventually Kevin was led to creating dishes of his own. His homemade chili was always a family favorite; it has been said that you can put it on anything! Kevin decided to make his passion a reality when his biggest food critic (his father, Jerry) told him he could eat his unique hot dogs and sausage dogs every single day.
Kevin has always loved people and takes a great deal of pride in getting to know ALL his customers. Working in retail for more than a decade, he was known as a fair leader, for thinking outside the box and showing empathy toward his employees. Being driven to serve and deliver top quality foods at a fair price to his customers led Kevin to developing Hot Dog Central.
Through networking and social media, Kevin strives to share his vision and great tasting food with millions. He seeks to inspire more small businesses to unite and create even larger quality food connections.
